An apartment project for a young family with a kid in the historical district of St. Petersburg. At the stage of designing a layout, the problem area was a bedroom with no natural light coming in. The client wanted to have an opportunity to integrate it into the living room space. Thus, it was decided to “push” the volume of the bedroom into the common family area in the form of a rounded sculptural element, which set the tone for the subsequent design of the space.
In the final layout solution, despite the small area of the apartment, it was possible to fit a spacious family space combined with an entrance area, a cozy parents' bedroom with a separate dressing room, and a small but functional nursery, which over time will be easily transformed into a teenager's room, and also design a quite spacious bathroom.
Only natural, tactile materials were selected as finishing materials for the project. All pieces of furniture and lighting were chosen together with the client, each of them has a beautiful history of creation.
